This is not a substitute for hearing aids! I was hoping that I could use these until my prescription hearing aids arrive but they just don't cut it for me. The sound is very tinny and everything sounds like it is coming from a tin can. Any movement or contact with the phone produces loud distracting sounds. There is almost no directionality possible. There is a delay to the sound so that voices are out of synch with the speakers. A subscrtion is needed for more than the most basic functions.

Have found petralex to be incredibly helpful in a time of desperation and need. Among the 20-30 hearing aid apps I've downloaded, I continue to return to this one as it's most definitely the best! Although I wish the noise suppression option would be somewhat included on the free app because after using it in the trial, without it the sounds are incredibly muffled and mixed together, very difficult to discern between for certain which noise is what. Please make the noise suppression included!

I have otosclerosis with tinnitus. This app works better than any real hearing aid device that I've used. Using the microphone on the phone, rather than the headset, is genius. The phone then becomes a remote mic that, for example, I can place in the center of the boardroom table during meetings. The slight audio delay is mildly disconcerting, but not enough to lose a star!
